In addition to her own blog, she also is writing a book named "The Luckiest Family" where she talks more in depth about her life growing up in a family where four of her brothers were in wheelchairs.
Alena is the oldest of nine children, four of whom are in wheelchairs with an undiagnosed neuro muscular condition. She has five brothers and three sisters.
One of her brothers who was in a wheelchair, Michael, passed away at the age of 18 in October 2009, three weeks before her wedding.
The rest of her siblings are Chris-18, Daniel-16, Josh-14, Elizabeth-11, Simon-9, Gianna-5, and Karina-3.
Alena married Joseph in November 2009, making her family even bigger! On Joey's side, Alena's family also includes an older brother and his wife, along with Joey's parents.
Alena graduated from John Paul the Great Catholic University in September 2010. There she earned her Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Communications and has focused on producing.
Joey is also currently going to school to get his LVN. Although this was not his original career plan, he has found through increasing interactions with Alena's family, that his true calling would be found through a profession in nursing.
Alena & Joey love to get together with their family and friends for game nights, movie nights, sporting events, or to just hang out with family and friends!
Joey and Alena are pleased to announce that their little family continues to grow. They now have two children Michael (2011), and Natalie (2013). They feel extremely blessed as their little family continues to grow.
